JEF Malta at G.F. Abela Junior College for Europe@School

This January, our Civic Education Officer continued this year’s Europe@School initiative with an engaging session at G.F. Abela Junior College! This program is a key part of JEF Malta’s mission to bring the EU closer to students in an interactive and hands-on way.

During the session, we explored the EU’s main institutions, their functions, and key policies—including a special focus on EU Common Foreign and Security Policy. Through dynamic and interactive discussions, students had the opportunity to engage with these topics in a meaningful way.

We kicked off by introducing ourselves and JEF Malta’s work, before diving into the lesson with around 35 enthusiastic students. The students were ones who will be attending a Euroscola visit in the European Parliament in coming months. Given this context, we tailored the discussion to align with their experiences, focusing on projects they were involved in while also highlighting the roles of EU institutions. We also made special focus on EU Careers given the opportunity to have the Ambassador for EU Careers of UM present at the talk.

Seeing students actively participate and share their thoughts made the session both rewarding and inspiring!
