JEF Malta at San Andrea School for Europe@School

As JEF Malta we want to reach students from a young age to expose them to what the European Union is, and instill in them a European Identity. We felt the need to continue these School visits within our staple program ‘Europe@School’ to give lessons to compensate for the lack of education about the European Union in schools. We also provide a twist to how lessons are usually conducted, we tried to make them as interactive as possible, balancing the lessons with discussions and activities.

On the day, we started the lesson by introducing ourselves and what JEF Malta is. We had approximately 30 students for each lesson, for two days in a row. Due to this visit taking place right before the European Elections of 2024, it was a priority for us to communicate the message of how the elections and the respective institutions work. After this short activity we moved on to show them a powerpoint presentation which was like a quiz with several questions about Europe and the EU.
